This type of poker was used in the coal furnace, in the kitchen coal burning oven, and by blacksmiths to rake and arrange the coals while in use. It measures 36" long and is made of 1/2" diameter iron. The oval loop at the top measures 5" across and the "L" at the bottom for raking through the coals measures 4" long from the shaft and has a pointed end. This is a solid tool with no structural or functional issues. Asking $25 for this piece of farmhouse history.
