Solid wood. Pictured here is as a toddler bed. We have a solid 4th side to turn into a crib. Must pick up in Vestal NY (Near Binghamton University). We have most of the hardware, but not all. You will need to get the rest from amazon or HomeDepot type place. We bought this 15+ years ago, and it has served us well. . . now time for another family to take it. Please do not buy to resell-- I want to give this to a family who actually needs it.
