I have an immediate need for housekeeping and other personal assistance services. By saying “personal assistance,” I am not referring to such things as grooming, dressing, and so forth.
Weekly Payment / Payroll is administered through The Southern Tier Independence Center [STIC]. STIC recently implemented an hourly pay raise to (I believe ) 20.00 per hour. To inquire about pay contact 607-724-2111.
I live at the west end of the West Side of Binghamton in a duplex apartment. My home is the entire first floor with a large front porch, living room, small office room, separate dining room, full bathroom, 1 bedroom, eat-in kitchen, and small storage/pantry room, with a clothes washer and dryer inside the residence. Of course, I supply all cleaning materials and supplies, including upright vacuum, brooms, mops, and so forth.
The second floor is the other residence, and they have a separate entryway. The job does not include anything related to the second floor residence.
The neighborhood is comprised of working young adults, some retirees in their longtime homes, and families (some whom are living in the houses they grew up in).
I also have a small, gentle, friendly, and well-behaved small dog. While I usually take him for a walk, I have a good sized, enclosed backyard that he is accustomed to in order for him to poop and pee until I am back to walking him again.
Initially, my weekly need will be 8-16 hours per week. I am having my left shoulder replaced, so at the start I will need someone to work about 3-1/2 hours per day, 5 days per week… during the first 4-6 weeks on the job. If there are two different people who want to split the initial greater number of weekly hours in half, covering 7 days per week, that is alright, too.
There are some tasks that I regularly do on my own, such as laundry, dish washing, making my bed / changing bedding, and so forth, that I will be unable to perform during the initial post-op period, as I will only have full use of one arm. As I heal from the surgery and undertake physical therapy, the job will become 8 hours per week.
If you are someone who wants to do the initial greater number of hours only for the first 4-6 weeks while I seek someone more permanently at 8 hours per week, that’s alright.
If someone is already in the STIC system who would be ready to start this coming week, that would be good. My former housekeeper quit this past week with no advance notice for personal, family-related reasons.
Please email back, or call. I am able to meet as soon as this weekend so we can discuss the job, you can see the environment, and learn if we each feel it is a good match.
