I have owned Chance for the past 3 years and have been his primary rider. He has not had extensive exposure to multiple riders and will do best with someone experienced who can provide consistent leadership and continue developing him.
Chance has been used to move cattle and has proven quick, responsive, and willing—even across open fields, creeks, and steep terrain. He rides out alone or in a group and handles trails, logs, water crossings, and varied terrain well. He prefers purposeful riding and does best when he has a job to focus on.
He has a natural gait and offers a smooth ride when allowed to move forward.
He has had lighter work this winter and is currently out of shape, so he would benefit from being brought back into a consistent riding program. When in regular work, he is more focused and settled.
Chance lives outside 24/7 and is an easy keeper. He is barefoot, sound, and has no known health issues. Hooves recently trimmed, vaccinations up to date, and his teeth were recently floated with no issues noted.
On the ground, he is affectionate and generally well-mannered—leads, loads, ties, bathes, and stands for vet and farrier. He can be more difficult to catch in a larger pasture, especially if not in regular work, as he is somewhat herd-oriented. With consistent handling and routine, this improves.
He would be best suited for a trainer, ranch rider, or confident teen/adult looking for an athletic project with potential.
Selling due to limited time and wanting him in a more consistent program where he can continue progressing.
