Not trying to sound like a salesman but, if you want to fix your squeaky floors but you don't want to rip up the existing carpet, this tool is the answer. First of all, it includes a tool that helps you find where your floor joists are. Then with the depth control and alignment fixture you drill a special screw through the carpeted floor and into the floor joist, tightening the subfloor to the floor joist to eliminate the squeak. When finished, the head of the screw snaps off, hiding the location of the screw.
