If you want to get the greatest lifetime out of your hybrid battery (sometimes referred to as "high voltage battery", "HV battery", or "Traction battery") it's important to maintain the filter through which cooling air is drawn into the battery chamber. If the filter becomes clogged, it chokes off the air flow which subsequently leads to the battery running hotter and decreasing it's useful lifetime.
The filter is easy to replace. You don't have to be a mechanic. Any DIYer should be able to swap out the filter in 5 to 10 minutes.
